3. Parineeta- Vidya Balan's spectacular hit film Parineeta was an adaptation of an early 20th-century novel Parineeta by a Bengali author Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay.
4. Lootera- This historical romance film is partly based on O. Henry's short story, The Last Leaf.
