The Divine Love Stories of Indian Rivers As per The Hindu Mythology And Tales

The Spring season is bringing, the lots love in this month of February. There are many love stories, we have listened previously. The love stories of holy rivers are quite interesting to hear. Some of the rivers are,

Ganga River
The love story of Ganga and Shantanu is a very famous topic in Hindu's holy book "Mahabharata". They have their first meeting, at the heaven. Due to the curse given by Lord Brahma, they had taken birth in this earth. Shantanu had taken birth as the father of "Vishma" in the earth. Ganga had married to him and she had given birth to 8 sons. But, as per the curse, she had thrown to all her sons to the river after, their birth. Shantanu had interrupted her to thrown the 8th son. So, as per the previous condition, Ganga had left him by giving that son into his hand.

Narmada River
Narmada goddess is saying to be the Spinster. Her marriage had fixed with the King Sonabhadra. She wanted to met with him before, marriage. In this manner, she had sent one of her friend Juhila to near him. But, she never came back for a long periods. When, Narmada had gone for searching her, she found her intimate with Sonavadra. The angry, Narmada returned from that place and decided to remain Spinster forever. Then, she became flew as a river.

Kaveri River
Goddess Kaveri is as holy as, Ganga. One day the Sage Agastya had come to her home and he attracted, towards her. Then, he had given her for the marriage proposal. Kaveri had agreed, with one condition, that, he always remained near to her. After some days of marriage, the Sage Agastya had to gone for some places with his disciples. But, he forget to return to home. The month after month passed away. So, as per condition, Goddess Kaveri flew as a river from the Bramhagiri Mountain.

Teesta River
The love story of Teesta or Rongnyu and Rongeet can one found in the folk songs of Sikkim. They both flew down to took the blessings of Kanchenjunga hill. They had fixed their meeting point previously. But, Rongeet was angry to see that, Rongnyu had reached that place before him. So, he tried to returned from that place. By seeing this, Rongnyu had made understood him and he became calm down. Then, they both flew together and joined at Bay of Bengal.

Ken River
The love story of this river is very wonderful. As per the tales, a girl named "Ken" had loved to a young man. But, the villagers not liked their love story and killed him. When, Ken reached at the particular place and not able to find him, then she tried to search him. But, after finding the dead body of her lover, she also, killed herself. The place where, she died ; a river had formed from that place and flew away. Till now, the river flows carrying the memory of that love story.
