The company will start this service from March 5, 2020. Its purpose is to prevent the spread of misleading or false information that may affect the public or to protect the voter.

The company said on Wednesday that it would soon begin labeling tweets on its platform. She will identify information presented as' misleading or manipulative. It will also take steps to remove such tweets giving false information to people. Apart from this, it will also warn the user before sharing a tweet containing misleading information. The aim is to stop the spread of such tweets.

Such a step has been announced by Twitter against misleading information at a time when concerns are being expressed on social media across the world about fake or manipulated information, fake videos and their terrible effects. The company has written in its latest blog post, "If we find media content shared in a tweet to be fake or tampered with, then we will give additional information about its possibility on that tweet." This means that we can apply a label (tag) on ​​that tweet and the user will see a warning before retweeting or liking such tweet.

Apart from this, we will reduce the reach of such tweets on Twitter as per the stringent rules made afresh. For this, such a tweet can be removed with the suggestion of 'definitely see (recommended tweet)'. Will also provide additional clarification or information. Twitter said, "In most cases, the tweet on which we will label misleading information will take all the steps mentioned above. Our teams will start tagging the tweet from March 5, 2020.

To check if a media or video is misleading, the company will see if the video has been edited in a way that has changed its origin and sequence.
