CHLOROFORM :- Sir James Simpson invented a new wonder drug called chloroform. Chloroform makes a person unconscious so that he or she felt no pain during the surgery.

As a result, a surgery can be performed easily as the patient doesn't feel the pain. James Simpson was the first surgeon to use chloroform as anaesthesia.

PENICILLIN :- Sir Alexander Fleming discovered one of the most powerful of all antibiotics - penicillin. Penicillin is an antibiotic that treats bacterial infections. This drug changed the way diseases were treated.

This was regarded as a life saving drug because it is stopped infection from spreading inside our body or on the surface due to cuts and abrasions.

QUININE :- Quinine gives the first cure to human beings from malaria. The bark of the cinchona tree was the first natural source of quinine. It reduced fever, pain and inflammation. It had a very bitter taste.

From the 17th century until the 1940s, quinine was the only anti-malarial drug available. Then, many new drugs replaced it, what even today quinine in is used as a cure for malaria in many regions of the world.
