A phone number is first required to log in to WhatsApp. This is the reason why you want to share the contact number with the rest of the members on a WhatsApp group or not, no other option is available and all the members see your number. Step 1: Open Whatsapp in your phone.

Step 2: Go to app settings and tap on 'Account Settings'.

Step 3: Tap on the Privacy button here.

Step 4: Select the blocked list from the different icons that appear after it.

Step 5: Here you can select the contact you want to block by going to add contact.

Step 6: To block a number which is not saved in the phone, you will see the block option as soon as you tap on the three dots that appear in the top right of its chat window.
