How data stored in the CD (compact disk)

The CD disks are the traditional way to store the data and watching the movies, music on the CD players. The CD disks are invented by the Sony and Phillips in year 1982. This disks are basically developed for the music audio storage, the diameter of the CD disk is 120mm.

There are four layers are present in the CD disk, the first layer is of polycarbonate in which the data encoded, second layer is shiny layer which reflects the laser beam. The third layer is of lacquer which is to protect the shiny layer, the last layer is for artwork which is printed by using the printer. The data is read by the laser beam by transmitting the laser beam towards the CD disk which is reflected back to sensor and converts the laser beam into electric data.

The data stored in the tracks which is present on the disk, the tracks are divided into small sectors, the many other formats of the CD are present in the market which are VCD, Audio CD, super audio CD, CD-ROM, Photo CD, etc.
