Choose the course of degree as per your interest because even if in future you will get a good job in some other steams you are not interested in you will just wait for your office hours to get over. 

Don't go for any degree course just because your friends are going or may be your partner is going because even if you are choosing a best course but you have least interest to make your career in that will be huge loss.

Nowadays we have many career courses available which provides degree as well, so you get the course of your interest with a degree so that you can takes it all to the next level in a professional way. 

Find your interest see if you can make your career in that subject, select suitable course that complement your interest ,go for it and see if you are adding some knowledge everyday towards your career.

Ignore useless opinion of people around you because they don't know you better than you, no one can ,so they can't see what you can do in future they will without knowing anything will show you your future and it's your responsibility to prove them wrong.
